(New York – NY) RCA Records singer, songwriter and producer Sammy Adams will debut the music video for his first single “Blow Up” on VEVO on December 22^nd. Shot in his hometown of Cambridge, MA and directed by Nathan Crooker the video features Adams leading a crew of kids (comprised of Sammy’s fans who were recruited via Twitter) to the ultimate house party.

On January 18^th, Adams will make his nationwide television debut, performing “Blow Up” on Conan which airs at 11pm EST/PST on TBS.

Following the success of her breakthrough album "Fearless" and impressive start to her forthcoming sophomore set "Love Me Back," Grammy-nominated R&B singer/songwriter Jazmine Sullivan will receive the Rising Star Award at the 2010 Billboard Women in Music Event on Dec. 2 in New York.

Sullivan will be honored alongside Black Eyed Peas vocalist and six-time Grammy-winning artist Fergie, who is receiving Billboard's Woman of the Year Award. She is also the next female artist to receive the Rising Star Award after Lady Gaga, who received the award in 2009 in the wake of the success of her debut album, "The Fame."
"I admire Lady Gaga, so to be honored in a category that she was once in is such a rewarding feeling," Sullivan tells Billboard.com.

"When I heard the news, I was so happy. I feel honored to be chosen as this year's Rising Star."
The Rising Star Award honors artists that have achieved a level of success and proven to have vast potential in the early stages of their career, and Jazmine Sullivan has done exactly that since 2008, when her debut single "Need U Bad" reached No. 1 on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and spent four weeks atop the chart. She's also had top 10s with "Fearless" follow-up singles "Bust Your Windows" (No. 4, 2008) and "Lions, Tigers & Bears" (No. 10, 2009), as well as with "Holding You Down (Goin in Circles)" (No. 3, 2010), the lead single from "Love Me Back."

"10 Seconds," the emotional second single from "Love Me Back," is currently at No. 43 on R&B/Hip-Hop Songs. As it continues to climb the chart, Sullivan is premiering the track's music video today on Billboard.com. The largely black-and-white clip finds the R&B singer taking drastic measures against a thoughtless ex-flame: Sullivan kidnaps the man, ties him to a chair in an abandoned building, and shows him flashbacks of their doomed relationship as a timer ticks down to zero. "You know that I can get crazy/When I go off, ain't nobody to tame me," Sullivan fumes, before throwing a glass of red wine on his white shirt.

"I have bad aim and kept missing him!" Sullivan recalls from the video shoot. "I think we had to do that take almost 10 times before I got it right."
"The song is very dramatic and that's reflected in the video," the singer adds. "It's beautifully shot in black and white with splashes of color added for effect. "My favorite part of filming the video was being able to release my anger on the actor who played my ex-boyfriend. That was fun... poor guy!"
Of the most memorable moment shooting the video, Sullivan says it was unequivocally "the giant rat -- one of those foot-long city rats - that scurried across everyone's feet while we were shooting the last scene. I've never seen a group of people scream and run away so fast - even the big burly security guard! We shot the video for several hours in a huge, decrepit warehouse in downtown Manhattan so we must have invaded the rat's territory and it wanted us to get the hell out."

Top international singer Leona Lewis is backing the World Society for the Protection of Animals (WSPA), the world’s largest alliance of animal welfare organizations, in a new campaign video launched today.

Leona pledged her support for the charity's Universal Declaration on Animal Welfare campaign at a video and photo shoot at the Sony Music Entertainment offices in Kensington, England. She was joined by her family dog Misty for the photo shoot.

Speaking about her support for WSPA Leona said: "I wanted to get involved with the World Society for the Protection of Animals because I think they are doing great campaigns. I've always been a huge advocate for any charities that are trying to help animals, because they are trying to change laws to protect animals - which I think is amazing.”

1. Do you have any animals?
We have a family dog called Misty. My brother rescued her from an owner who was mistreating her and didn’t want her any more. We’ve had her for about four years and she is a lovely, loyal dog and a great companion – such a happy dog now.

2. Why do you support the World Society for the Protection of Animals?
I’m a big animal lover and I think the work that WSPA does is amazing. I’ve always been a huge advocate for charities that protect animals, particularly WSPA because I agree with the way that they approach things.

I wanted to get involved with them because they run great campaigns; trying to push animal welfare laws and change things permanently, for the better, which I think is amazing. I’m looking forward to helping them build as much awareness for animals as possible.

5. Tell us about this WSPA campaign you are supporting?
I’m showing my support for WSPA’s campaign to get a Universal Declaration on Animal Welfare. Right now, there are no international laws to protect animals and they are working to change that.

All you have to do is sign a petition – I’ve done it and I’m encouraging people to sign it and send it to a friend as well. The Universal Declaration will mean so much worldwide; it could be the start of tougher laws to protect animals around the world. 3. How did you first hear about WSPA?
I heard about WSPA a few years ago and since then I’ve become a huge supporter. I’m signed up to their newsletters and I sign their petitions, which I forward on to my friends to sign. I also donate to their appeals, which could be anything from building bear sanctuaries to sending in teams to save animals after a disaster. I heard that WSPA had teams in Samoa, Indonesia and the Philippines, working to save all kinds of animals after the recent tsunami and earthquakes.

4. Which animal welfare issue (that WSPA works on) affects you the most?
I think that all of their work is important, but I really feel the laws they are trying to put into place will help animals around the world, which is what needs to happen. That’s why I’m supporting the Universal Declaration – it has massive potential to make so many bad situations better for animals. But WSPA has so many projects from bear dancing to the orangutan sanctuary they fund in Borneo – what WSPA does for animals is amazing.

5. Have you ever witnessed animal suffering/cruelty on your travels or in the UK? If so, what did you do about it?
I‘ve seen things that I would definitely consider to be neglect. One place I visited, I thought the horses looked malnourished – I’m very into horses so I know what a healthy horse should look like. Basic things weren’t taken care of, like the fact the horses didn’t have any water to drink in their field. I've also seen so many stray dogs in some countries and it just breaks my heart.

But having being a WSPA supporter for years, I knew what to do about it. I reported it to the authorities and if I saw something like that again, I would probably write to my government to say that I wouldn’t visit that country again if I saw acts of animal cruelty. As a tourist, refusing to spend our money in a particular country for ethical reasons is one of the most powerful things we can do.

6. If you could change one thing for animals now, what would that be?

If I could change anything for animals it would be that they could get the same consideration and respect that we do, which is what the international declaration is working towards

(New York —October 22, 2009) — Multi-platinum singer and songwriter Leona Lewis, who took the music world by storm with her 2008 debut album Spirit, will release its follow-up, entitled ECHO, on November 17th on J Records/Syco Music.

After proving her commercial potency on the three-time Grammy-nominated Spirit, which entered both the U.K. and U.S. album charts at No. 1, spawned the best-selling single of 2008 (“Bleeding Love”), and sold more than six million copies worldwide, ECHOgave Lewis the opportunity to take a few chances. “I knew that I had evolved as a singer, songwriter, and performer,” she says, “so it was important to me to take the songs on ECHO to the next level and show what else I could do.”

To that end, Lewis co-wrote nine songs on the album, collaborating with a host of A-list songwriters and producers, including re-teaming with One Republic frontman and “Bleeding Love” co-writer/producer Ryan Tedder on three tracks, including the first single “Happy.” She also worked with Swedish studio vet Max Martin and songwriter/producer Novel, as well as new collaborators Justin Timberlake, multi-platinum Bon Jovi/Kelly Clarkson producer John Shanks, and in-demand hitmakers Evan Bogart and Kevin Rudolf. Each helped Lewis deliver raw emotion through the melodies and lyrics and make full use of her “titanium-caliber voice” (as the New York Times has described it). Once again, Clive Davis and Simon Cowell joined forces to co-produce ECHO.

ECHO also finds the 24-year-old London native expanding her palette and exploring adventurous sonic territory. The dancefloor-friendly “Outta My Head” is sleek, stylish electro-pop, while the rock-driven “Love Letter” and “I Got You” show an edgier side of Lewis. Then there’s “Brave,” which soars with a Middle Eastern influence and pounding timpanis, and the sultry, synth-driven “Fly Here Now.”

“I really wanted a dramatic, almost cinematic quality to the songs,” says Lewis, a self-described “film nerd” who namechecks ’80s fantasy film The Labyrinth as her all-time favorite. “We would even put on movies in the studio to inspire us; it was a cool way of writing. I’m always thinking of scenes in my head.” Of course, ECHO features plenty of epic, lush ballads to satisfy Spiritfans, including the uplifting first single “Happy,” which Lewis says is “about overcoming obstacles and striving for happiness,” and People magazine called “passionate and soul-searching.”

It’s that passion and soulfulness that permeate ECHO, which Lewis can’t wait for the public to hear. “I’m actually more confident with this album than the last,” she says. “I’ve taken more control this time and I feel more at ease with everything. To me, it’s all about great songs. I hope they move people as much as they move me.”

Lewis was “discovered” in 2006 after auditioning for The X Factor, a British talent show executive-produced by American Idol’s Simon Cowell, who is also a judge. The then-22-year old — who attended performing arts academy The BRIT School, and famously worked as a Pizza Hut waitress to support her fledging music career — won the competition after endearing herself to fans week after week with her soaring voice, down-to-earth personality, and striking beauty. Certain he had a superstar on his hands, Cowell phoned legendary music executive and J Records founder Clive Davis, who teamed up with Cowell to sign Lewis to J Records/Syco Music, Cowell’s joint venture with Sony Music Entertainment in 2006.

July 30, 2009 — New York, NY — Los Angeles rock band Say Anything will release its highly anticipated third album on October 13th on RCA Records. Self-titled, the 12-song collection was produced by veteran producer/mixer/engineer Neal Avron, who has also worked with Weezer, The Wallflowers, Fall Out Boy, and Everclear, among many others. The band — which is frontman Max Bemis, drummer Coby Linder, bassist Alex Kent, guitarists Jake Turner and Jeff Turner, and keyboardist Parker Case — recorded it in early 2009 at the Boat Studio in Los Angeles.

Say Anything is the first studio album from the band since its critically acclaimed 2007 double-disc In Defense of the Genre, which Entertainment Weekly praised as an “ambitious artistic statement” and Alternative Press called “an opus that musicians more than twice Bemis’ age could only hope to create.”

“In Defense was our opportunity to pay homage to our fans, to the bands we grew up listening to, even to our own artistic abilities,” says Max Bemis. “Our new album steps out of tradition and tries to do things differently by making an impression not just based on a sense of artistry or maturity. We want to be able to affect anyone who listens to it. It's a bigger, more accessible undertaking, but it's twice as complex.”

Bemis adds that the song cycle tells an uplifting story about finding oneself and trusting again, and is not dominated by the themes of drug addiction, insanity, and abusive relationships that fueled In Defense. “The songs on this record were inspired by an amazing adventure I had actually becoming a worthwhile person again,” he says. “I had to let go of my self-loathing and general sense of self-imposed alienation, which led me through a journey of self-discovery, at the end of which I fell in love and got married.”

“It’s not that this record isn't dark,” Bemis continues. “It's just more fun and not in a mindless way. I'd say it's easily the closest our band has gotten to writing a record that our fans would want us to write. Not to kiss their butts, but because it’s what we wanted to write as well.”

Say Anything exploded onto the music scene with their 2004 Doghouse Records debut …Is A Real Boy, which told the ultimate coming-of-age story in a swirling storm of sex, drugs, angst, and gut-wrenchingly honest rock & roll. Bemis’ unraveling after the album’s release is, by now, well-known among fans of the band, who stuck with Say Anything through Bemis’ various health problems, including a long-struggle with bi-polar disorder. In 2005, Say Anything signed with RCA Music Group, which re-released …Is A Real Boy with a bonus CD entitled …Was A Real Boy in 2006, following Bemis’ successful rehabilitation. Over the years, Say Anything has toured with such artists as My Chemical Romance, Manchester Orchestra, Dashboard Confessional, Saves the Day, mewithoutyou, Ben Lee, and appeared on the Warped Tour in summer 2008.

Biography

Few people can accurately say they’ve changed the course of music; count T-Pain among that short list. His bright, polished arrangements have become the in-demand sound across genres, and his scene-stealing vocal performances are among the most coveted in music. Since bursting on the scene in 2005, T-Pain has been awarded a Grammy, produced and written a plethora of chart-topping and platinum-selling singles, garnered "Songwriter of the Year" and "Producer of the Year" honors at the BMI Urban Awards and earned a BET Award. So it should come as little surprise that the musical maestro’s tremendous, self-produced third album, THR33 RINGZ, stands as a sonic odyssey brimming with innovation.

The distinctive spelling used for the album title may not hold any significance, but the meaning behind the name carries weight. “It came from people telling me that I’m running the game, that I’m the ringleader of the game,” T-Pain says humbly. “That’s where the whole circus imagery came from. I started putting it together with the idea that the circus is just like the music industry. You’ve got your different acts, all of the different animals, etc.”

THR33 RINGZ is quite the musical journey, complete with highs and lows, smash singles and unexpected twists. Lead single “Can’t Believe It” is already enjoying heavy radio and video exposure. Aided by sprinkly keys and T-Pain’s trademark vocoder, he and guest Lil Wayne talk about spoiling their respective ladies in the song. There’s good reason T-Pain’s music often connects with and speaks to women. He had plenty of training dealing with the fairer sex.

“When I was in school, I would sit and talk to a lot of girls,” T-Pain recalls. “I would listen to what they would talk about, what they want. I would try to understand the passions of a woman. That’s where my concepts come from. That’s how you know if people can relate to your songs. If you’ve heard the same elements of a story over and over again, you know there are millions of people going through this.”

Since his schoolroom listening sessions, T-Pain has kept his ears open. In fact, listening to several sob stories inspired “Therapy,” a tune where T-Pain and Kanye West talk about women who need to get themselves together. T-Pain then details relationships with negative energy on “Chopped & Screwed” a track that features Ludacris. But T-Pain’s music isn’t all about drama. He also listens to his friends when they gush about a special someone. The party track “Freeze,” for instance, grew out of conversation T-Pain had with Chris Brown. Brown, who also appears on the high-energy song, was telling T-Pain how he finds women that can dance particularly attractive.

Of course T-Pain’s long-time fans know that he especially appreciates women who dance in strip clubs. But he knows from first-hand experience how men often fall victim to DJs who switch songs up too quickly when they’ve just paid for a lap dance. Hence, the five-minute plus “Long Lap Dance.” “In Florida, strippers charge for lap dances by the song,” T-Pain explains. “If you just so happen to ask a girl for a lap dance in the middle of a song and the DJ cuts it off, you still have to pay the full price. So I just made a long song, so whenever you ask for it, you should be good. And the DJs know that they can’t cut it off, ‘cause then it wouldn’t be the ‘Long Lap Dance’ song.”

With his music being largely based on real-world encounters, it makes sense that T-Pain recorded “Reality Show,” a tune that details some of his wild experiences. “At certain times, everybody’s like, ‘I need my own reality show because the stuff I’m going through is crazy,’” T-Pain says with a laugh. “I don’t know why you’d want the world to see everything you’re going through, but nobody’s done a reality show song yet.”

Reality shows are filled with drama, and T-Pain’s existence is no different. When he gets angry, T-Pain is likely to end up rapping, as is the case on “Ring Leader Man,” “Karaoke” with DJ Khaled, and the title track. “If I’m upset, then it’s going to be a rap day,” T-Pain says with a chuckle. “I make music depending on what mood I’m in. If I’m pissed off, I can’t get on there and talk about love.”

Even though T-Pain sometimes finds himself in an angry mood, he remains grounded because of his wife and children. His family is also the inspiration for THR33 RINGZ song “Keep Going.” This acoustic tune stands as a testament to T-Pain’s dedication to his family. “I want to make sure that my kids live a good life,” he says. “I don’t want them to have to figure out the hard way what a food stamp is. I’ve slept in cars. I went through a lot in my life and I’m going to make sure that if somebody’s life is in my hands that they’re not going to have to go through that.”

Indeed, T-Pain can speak from that perspective because he knows what it is like to struggle. His Tallahassee, Florida hometown was lacking music industry opportunities and connections, so the man born Faheem Najm chose the T-Pain moniker to signify his plight. He taught himself how to make music, write songs and record music.

In 2003, T-Pain’s sly remake of Akon’s “Locked Up” caught the attention of music industry insiders, and the independent release of his “I’m Sprung” single led to a contract with Jive/Zomba.

T-Pain’s use of the vocoder made his music stand out, and his prolific, high-quality output turned him into one of music’s most oft-imitated and in-demand producers, singers and collaborators. His first two albums, 2006’s Rappa Ternt Sanga and 2007’s Epiphany, have been certified gold, thanks to hit singles such as “I’m N Luv (Wit A Stripper)” and “Buy U A Drank (Shawty Snappin’).” He has also collaborated with Kanye West (“Good Life”), Chris Brown (“Kiss, Kiss”), Flo Rida (“Low”), Plies (“Shawty”), and Bow Wow (“Outta My System”) for platinum singles.

Now, as T-Pain gains more control over his artistry, expect him to continue expanding his sonic and creative reach as a singer-songwriter-rapper-producer. After all, he knows the key to long-term success in the music industry is evolution. “You’ve got to be different and keep it consistent at the same time, which is super-hard to do,” T-Pain says. “I come different every time and that’s what people look for, what they expect.”

New York, NY – After spending much of 2007 and 2008 on the top of the charts with hits such as "Buy U a Drank (Shawty Snappin')" and "Bartender" and as a producer and featured artist on tracks such as Flo-Rida’s “Low” and Chris Brown’s “Kiss Kiss,” T-Pain announced today that Jive Records will release his third studio album Thr33 Ringz in Fall 2008. With Thr33 Ringz, he is set to show everyone that he is the ring leader and, in true T-Pain fashion, he is bringing a few of his friends along for the ride.

It’s evident T-Pain has another hit on his hands with the album’s first single, “Can’t Believe It,” featuring Lil Wayne which is currently the #1 most added song this week at both Urban and Rhythm X-Over radio. A Casanova song, the track is about “getting a girl to ride with you,” says T-Pain. “Basically I got a lot of stuff on my album that’s not that simple. It’s just basically a way to calm things down,” he says.

Other tracks to be included on the album include: an up-tempo jam that is destined to be the dance floor hit of the year, “Freeze” featuring Chris Brown; a lyrically clever urban anthem “Chopped & Screwed” featuring rapper Ludacris; a personal and controversial declaration to the industry “Karaoke” featuring DJ Khaled; and collaboration with Kanye West called “Therapy.”

Tallahassee, Florida native, T-Pain burst on the scene in 2005 with his debut Rappa Ternt Sanga and the unforgettable singles “I’m Sprung” and “I’m N Luv (Wit A Stripper),” a song that maintains the title of the highest selling ring tone. T-Pain continued his success with his sophomore effort Epiphany in 2007, which spawned the #1 airplay record of the year, “Buy U a Drank” (featuring Yung Joc) and the ubiquitous #1 hit “Bartender.” In 2008, T-Pain took home his first Grammy for Best Rap Song (for “Good Life”) with Kanye West, which also garnered a BET Award, where he was the most nominated artist of the night.T-Pain (age 23) currently resides in Atlanta with his wife and children.

(New York- August 1, 2008) – On October 7th, 2008, multi-platinum Arista recording artist Sarah McLachlan will release the first best-of collection of her long and illustrious career.

Closer: The Best Of Sarah McLachlan contains 14 classic tracks personally selected by the artist from her award-winning catalog, as well as two newly recorded and previously unreleased songs, “U Want Me 2” and “Don't Give Up On Us,” working with her longtime producer Pierre Marchand. Additionally, a deluxe 2-CD version will be available, which will include the 16 song album plus a bonus disc of additional songs from Sarah's discography.

Since joining Arista two decades ago, every one of Sarah McLachlan’s studio and live albums and videos have been certified gold, platinum, or multi-platinum by the RIAA, starting with Touch (1988) and Solace (1991), both gold sellers. Her 1994 breakthrough, Fumbling Towards Ecstasy (triple-platinum) was followed by the digitally enhanced multimedia version of The Freedom Sessions (1995, gold). Sarah’s landmark fifth album, the 8x-platinum Surfacing (1997), contained two Grammy Award-winning tracks, as “Building a Mystery” won for Best Female Pop Vocal, and “Last Dance” was voted Best Pop Instrumental. 1999’s triple-platinum Mirrorball, and its platinum long-form video counterpart, were both culled from that year’s Lilith Fair tour, and spun off Sarah’s third Grammy-winning performance, as “I Will Remember You” won for Best Female Pop Vocal. The double-platinum Afterglow followed in 2003, and received a Grammy nomination for Best Pop Vocal Album, while its opening track, “Fallen” was nominated for Best Female Pop Vocal. 2007's Wintersong, was the #1 best seller on the Holiday Album charts that year, was nominated for a Grammy for Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album, and was certified Platinum, marking her 15th release to be certified gold, platinum, or multi-platinum by the RIAA.

· “Good Enough,” “Possession” – Both tracks are culled from Sarah McLachlan’s third Arista album, Fumbling Towards Ecstasy (released 10/22/1993), her commercial breakthrough and first Billboard Top 50 chart entry. “…McLachlan never flinches, never takes the easy route of cliché and formula. · “I Will Remember You” – Sarah McLachlan founded the legendary Lilith Tour in 1997 and her quadruple-platinum album, Mirrorball (released 6/15/1999), was recorded live during the 1999 tour. “I Will Remember You” from Mirrorball earned Sarah her third career Grammy Award, again in the category of Best Female Pop Vocal.

· “Fallen” – The opening track from Sarah’s double-platinum album Afterglow (released 11/4/2003), which reached Number Two on the Billboard Top 200. "Fallen" was nominated for the Grammy Award for Best Female Pop Vocal. In addition, Afterglow was nominated for Best Pop Vocal Album.

· “U Want Me 2,” “Don't Give Up On Us” – Composed by Sarah McLachlan and co-produced by Sarah and Pierre Marchand, these new recordings will be a special treat for fans who eagerly await the follow-up to Afterglow, Sarah’s last album of all-original material.

Fifth Studio Album Is Scheduled For October 28th Release

New York, NY – Grammy winning, platinum-selling singer P!nk, will soon return to radio airwaves with her newest single, “So What.” The anthemic song is the lead single from her forthcoming untitled fifth studio offering, set for release on October 28th. “So What” will be delivered to radio stations early August and will be available for sale digitally mid-August.

The launch reunites the talented star with several of her previous collaborators including Max Martin and Dave Meyers. “So What” was co-written by P!nk and produced by Max Martin, who successfully collaborated with her on her #1 hits, “Who Knew” and “U + Ur Hand.” Meyers has been tapped to direct the video for “So What.” P!nk previously worked with him on the videos for "U + Ur Hand" and "Stupid Girls,” which earned an MTV Video Music Award for “Best Pop Video.”

"So What” will premiere on MTV's new show FNMTV and the network will exclusively broadcast the video for 72 hours. To further promote the video, P!nk with be the guest commentator on FNMTV on July 25th and August 1st.

Imagine the side-splitting antics of three street corner comics roasting each other in rhyme over an infectious dance track. Making you laugh aloud from line after witty line, nothing is taboo as they bring attention to holes in socks, body odor and physical defects.
Like Hip-Hop's version of the Kings of Comedy, south side Chicago-based threesome Hot Stylz did just that with their popular club track "Lookin @$$ N!**@." Made up of comedic rappers Raydio G, Krazee and Meatball, the group reaped fans from the Mid-West and across the country with humorous rhymes, up-tempo production and fluid rap flows. And they are sure to have us all cracking up with their debut album on Swagg Team/ Jive Records due later this year.
"Everybody likes to laugh. I don't care if you are a preacher or a thug. Laughter is universal," explains Raydio G. "We are all crazy, all day. That's why the music comes off so effortlessly. The music is influenced from actual events."
Indeed, the concept for "Lookin @$$ N!**@" came from their daily ritual of cracking jokes on each other. Late one night while they were partying, drinking and freestyling to instrumental beats with a handful of females on site, they decided to add a different twist to the cipher. They insulted each other in their verses. The session was so hilarious that they made it into as a song. Almost instantly, it grew legs and took off.
"From nerds to anorexics to fat people to tall people to short people, somebody is picking on somebody at all times," Krazee explains the song's popularity. "That's something we do as people. In your home, at work or wherever you may be, everybody likes to laugh."
The record became so hot that other rappers popped up by the dozens with copycat songs. In a move to set themselves aside from the rest of the pack, they posted a video of the song on YouTube. The post currently garners more than 20,000 views per day.
"That video gave us so much traffic to our MySpace page," says Raydio. "It was simple, but it made the song that much better."
Not only did they have the Internet going nuts but the single's heavy club rotation prompted platinum artist Yung Joc to sign them to his new Swagg Team imprint in January. Joc even gets into the roasting act on the censored radio remix "Lookin Boy." And with Joc at the helm, the group signed a major label deal with Jive Records.
"A lot of people say they are bringing the fun back, but we are bringing the ig'nant back," explains Raydio. "Plus, it's still style with it. It's not too bubblegum-ish. We got some substance…It's either gone be ig'nant or have you dying laughing or have you saying 'did they really create a song about this?'"
The fun began back in 1997 in the cafeteria of Dunbar Vocational High School in Chicago. Making beats on tables and rapping back and fourth, Raydio G and Meatball along with two former members captivated their classmates on a daily basis. They named the ensemble Hotstylz and made names for themselves locally in talent shows throughout the city. By 2002, Krazee was added to the group, and they dropped their independent debut album The Bootleg Filez Vol. 1. By 2005, the group had been reshuffled to its present lineup. Then, they released compilation CD Hot Product in 2005, a collective effort featuring members of their rap crew HS Clique.
"We wanna show everybody a whole different perspective to the game," expresses Meatball. "Everybody wants to be a thug, but we chose not to go that route. We chose to have fun."
Those same energetic, good times will be all over their Swagg Team/ Jive major label debut. Their club-ready sound is a natural hybrid of their influences from swift-tongued Chicago rappers like Do Or Die, Crucial Conflict and Twista, but they blend their Mid-West sound with the up-tempo effervescence of raw, Down South energy from the likes of Three 6 Mafia.
"It's partially southern, but Midwest and southern music over the years started sounding alike," says Raydio. "It's more of a Chicago influence but there's definitely a southern influence too."
"Commercially, people think Chicago is full of conscious rappers, we all wear tight clothes and try to kick knowledge all day," Raydio sums up. "But there are a lot rappers like us who are like us - about having fun."

VOCAL ILLNESS FORCES KEYS TO CANCEL TWO SHOWS

Cleveland, OH (April 23, 2008) – After cancelling a concert in Pittsburgh, PA last night, eleven-time Grammy winner, Alicia Keys, must cancel a second stop along her Lexus Presents the Alicia Keys As I Am Tour due to a continued bout with swollen vocal chords. The show was scheduled for Thursday night at the Wolstein Center in Cleveland, OH. Ticket holders in both cities may contact the respective venues for instructions and fans with tickets for the Cleveland concert will be able to have them honored at the upcoming show in Columbus, OH.

Keys, who is currently being treated by a physician, is expected to return to the stage on Saturday, April 26th at the Value City Arena at the Jerome Schottenstein Center in Columbus.

Alicia Keys recently wrapped up a successful European run and kicked off the highly anticipated U.S. leg in Hampton, VA on April 19th. THE ALICIA KEYS "AS I AM" TOUR

Sparks Nabs "Outstanding New Artist" Award At NAACP Image Awards Ceremony

Entertainment/Jive Records artist, Jordin Sparks, who recently performed the national anthem to an audience of nearly 100 million viewers at Super Bowl XLII, will be the opening act on the upcoming and highly anticipated Alicia Keys "As I Am" tour. The 18-year old star, who just won the Outstanding New Artist award at the 39^th NAACP Image Awards, will kick-off the tour on April 19^th in Hampton, VA.

Since the release of her critically-acclaimed eponymous debut, Jordin's first platinum-certified single, "Tattoo," shot up the charts and has resided in the Top 10 of Billboard's Pop 100 Airplay singles chart for close to two months; currently the song holds the #7 slot for the second week in a row. Additionally, Sparks' second single "No Air," a poignant duet with label mate Chris Brown, is shaping up to be a smash hit; "No Air" is already receiving major radio support across the country and is in the Top 20 on Billboard's Pop 100, Pop 100 Airplay and Hot Digital singles charts. The "No Air" video, directed by famed director Chris Robinson, will debut on national video outlets late February.

Jordin Sparks, a native of Phoenix, Arizona and daughter of former-NFL player Phillippi Sparks, rose to fame last year when she became the youngest contestant ever to win American Idol. She has gone to win over critics receiving glowing accolades from the press including Rolling Stone, USA Today, Entertainment Weekly and more touting her indisputable talent.

Sparks will open for Alicia Keys through-out the entire 30-date tour, which is scheduled to end in New York on June 18^th.

It is with great sadness that Jive Records announces the passing of Chad "Pimp C" Butler, a member of the celebrated rap duo UGK (Underground Kingz). Jive Records' President and CEO Barry Weiss states: "We mourn the unexpected loss of Chad. He was truly a thoughtful and kind-hearted person. He will be remembered for his talent and profound influence as a pioneer in bringing southern rap to the forefront. He will be missed and our prayers remain with his family and Bun B. I've known Chad since he was 18, and we loved him dearly and he was a cherished member of the Jive family."

Born in Port Arthur, Texas, Butler's father was a trumpet player who played professionally with Solomon Burke. Outside of his father, the 33-year old rapper's influences varied, ranging from Bobby Bland, Jimmy McGriff, the 1960's Motown artists to Run DMC. Butler met his inseparable partner Bernard "Bun B" Freeman in high school where they formed UGK. In 1992, the duo signed to Jive Records and went on release a total of eight albums for the label. They earned their highest achievement earlier this year when their most recent album, UGK (Underground Kingz), debuted in the number one position on the album pop chart. According to the New York Times, UGK "helped inspire a generation of Southern hip-hop stars, from OutKast to Lil Wayne."

Bun B is not available for comment at this time.
